Euro Demolition & Dismantling were instructed by our client to remove the assets from a large brewery site in London. The photo above shows 50% of the site, which is the area of the site we worked on.
At this stage the buildings were not being demolished and therefore the utmost care had to be taken not to damage the external envelope of the buildings.
EDD procured this extremely complex project in London after months of negotiation with the client for the removal of assets (credit paid to client for assets) and other works on the former Brewery site, which is a major future development site in the area.
The project took several weeks of planning prior to going onto site, as a number of the assets were removed from the buildings through the roof. This was due to the sheer size of tanks which are part of the assets being removed. We are also carrying out high level roof removal works (including asbestos materials) simultaneously with the tower crane lift works, which requires strict control measures, to ensure the safety of all on site involved in the works.
The site was located in a very busy built up area of London surrounded by residential properties and business properties. All works were carried out with due regard for the local business and resident community. Listed buildings were situated on the site, so great care had to be taken when working near these buildings to ensure that they were not damaged.
Our client’s health and safety management auditors Arcadis carried out 4 audits on site, whereby we were scored full 100% and were commended on our health and safety practices, procedures, welfare and paperwork for site.
