Euro Demolition & Dismantling Ltd were awarded the contract to carry out the plant and equipment clearance on this old open cast mining site in November 2017.
Euro Demolition & Dismantling have now carried out several projects across England, Scotland and Wales for this client.
Following several site visits and liaising with the client, we carried out the task of carrying out clearance works on 4 sections of the site.
The works on the former opencast mine included for the removal of all redundant scrap metal, which included tanks, motors, redundant mining plant equipment, metal containers, mobile offices and various other items of scrap.
The general method of processing and removal of items from the site was carried out using remote demolition techniques, employing a 360 degree demolition excavator and shear attachment. Other methods used were cold cutting techniques where required and where absolutely necessary oxy-propane hot cutting works techniques.
Certain items of plant were such as excavator buckets deemed suitable for re-use were lifted directly onto low loaders by the use of a 95 tonne crane and removed from site.
All materials were taken from site by our accredited recycling partners. All works were carried out within programme and without incident or accident to the client’s satisfaction.
A credit payment was given to the client for the removal of all of the recyclable materials arising from the site.
